From Didion's Desk began as a series of Author Q&A's to discuss Beach Reads official book club picks, with our first guest being NY Times Editor's Choice author Clare Beams. The name is in homage to writer Joan Didion, and aims to explore the intersection of film, TV, and literature. Halle Arbaugh, who founded Beach Reads with Big Beach Films, acquired Joan Didion's writing desk at auction with the goal of utilizing it to keep Didion's legacy alive. Big Beach was working on a TV series with Joan Didion when she passed away in 2021.
